The Florentine Apartment
Apartment - Via Ricasoli 59 - FirenzeDescription
Located on the second floor without lift (30 steps) of a historic building in the most authentic historical Florence, in Via dei Ricasoli, an ancient street dedicated to the Ricasoli family, which connects Piazza San Marco with Piazza del Duomo, this spacious apartment has just been renovated and furnished with taste and refined attention to detail, creating a perfect mix of antique and modern functionality.
The owner, art director of the newspaper "The Florentine", undisputed guide for 20 years of events in Florence, has enriched and personalised the environment with paintings of his modern production and details that recall the most authentic Florentine.
Ideal for holidays with family or friends, The Florentine Apartment welcomes the most diverse groups, without anyone having to give up the intimacy of their spaces.
Entering the apartment, you are immediately immersed in a relaxing and welcoming environment: the parquet flooring throughout the house warms the atmosphere and the bright colours of the furniture help to create a sense of true relaxation, recharging your batteries after a day spent visiting museums and the bustling city. With its olive green walls, large beige sofa, colourful lampshades and brick red and bottle green details, the spacious living room welcomes you with a warm atmosphere. A stylish desk and large television complete the living room.
On the right, a large sliding door in satinised glass separates the living room from the double bedroom overlooking via Ricasoli. The bed has been carefully chosen to ensure a good night's sleep for our guests. The room is furnished with a shabby chic wardrobe, an armchair and a coffee table.
On the left of the living room, a large arch opens onto the kitchen: a mix of style and sobriety, furnished with a round wooden table and chairs in midollino and a kitchenette equipped with everything that can serve to prepare and enjoy breakfast in peace, lunch or dinner whenever you want (oven, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, moka, etc.).
From the kitchen, another satin glass door leads to the second bedroom with 2 single beds that can be converted into a double bed if required.
All rooms have wardrobes, desks or drawers and blackout curtains, and refined mirrors and paintings adorn the walls throughout the apartment, adding a touch of colour to each room.
A large bathroom with shower completes the apartment.
Wi-Fi and air conditioning are available throughout the apartment.
Guests have access to the entire apartment as described.
THE DISTRICT
The apartment is located in the heart of the city, a few steps from Piazza del Duomo, the Accademia Gallery, the Opera of the Duomo, Piazza SS. Annunziata, the Archaeological Museum, the Innocents Museum, the Basilica of San Lorenzo, the Medici Chapels, in Via dei Ricasoli, a street rich in historical and artistic value with precious tabernacles, tombstones and stately villas.
The street is dedicated to the Ricasoli family, who, although they had the most important palace in Piazza Goldoni, here stood the palace of Bettino Ricasoli, an important Florentine politician of the nineteenth century. In the past, at least until 1847, the street was called Cocomero and the ancient Niccolini Theatre, at the beginning of the street towards Piazza del Duomo, was called Teatro del Cocomero.
Together with via degli Alfani, the street forms a kind of small square overlooking the Luigi Cherubini Music Conservatory; beyond the intersection, the street becomes more anonymous, but is always crowded because of the entrance to the Accademia Gallery, formerly the San Matteo Hospital.
Not far away are the old districts of Sant'Ambrogio and San Lorenzo, with the churches of the same name and their lively typical markets, where you can buy local products to taste or take home as souvenirs.
The neighbourhood is full of restaurants/taverns and clubs that animate the squares and streets with their open-air tables, especially in summer. Here you can enjoy the best dishes of Tuscan cuisine for a casual lunch or a romantic dinner.
Ideal for couples or families with children, the neighbourhood has everything you need for your stay.
On the doorstep you will find: bank, chemist's, bar, pastry shops, ice-cream parlours, pizzerias, typical and ethnic restaurants, supermarkets, hairdressers, laundry, bus stop, children's gardens.
